For many states and localities, recent events have spotlighted the need to modernize IT systems for financial management. To better understand the issues governments face as they seek to upgrade financial tracking, reporting, compliance and auditing activities, the Center for Digital Government (CDG) conducted a national survey of finance and budgeting leaders in state and local governments. The results of this survey shine a light on how public agencies are working to strengthen their financial management practices and increase their resilience in the face of future crises.
