Homelessness: Challenges and Promising Practices

Homelessness is a huge challenge for cities, and in some cities the problem is getting worse. Leaders in Austin, Texas, are frequently recognized for their innovative strategies to help the city’s homeless population. Governing recently convened a roundtable of Austin city leaders, representatives from the Texas governor’s office and leaders from various organizations that serve the homeless to share ideas and perspectives about reducing homelessness throughout the nation.
